Communication Problem

Post by weber » Fri Jan 31, 2014 5:41 pm

Hi,

this project is the first one with linux/raspberry Pi.
I'm trying to install 123solar for data logging.

Here some facts:
- I'm using two 3.0 Power One inverters.
- connection to 123solar pages is possible and inverters have been created.
- Rs485 converter seems to work (red LED is frequently blinking)

The following text is at debug page:

Seems to be okay

Checking PVoutput :
Curl version : curl 7.26.0
curlextension -NOT- loaded
PVoutput return log :

Up to now I tried to fix the problem but I'm not sure if the tty is working correct.
I tried to start the aurora communication manually at LX terminal with the following command:
aurora -a 2 -e /dev/ttyUSB0
Feedback: "No respone after 3 times" and "Error: Received bad return code (-1 0)"

Any ideas?
This is the third day without any result...

Thank you in advance.

Welcome,
Always first try the communication alone (aurora -a2...) Adjust the com. options and only when it is working correctly, you can settup 123s.
BTW: inverters don't respond at night ;)

Thank you for fast response.
I tried it in different ways and very often the last days.
After starting the RasPi, I try to use aurora command with different parameters (e. g. aurora -a 2 -e /dev/ttyUSB0).
The response is always the same. See my first post.
Is there any way to check if the serial interface is working correct, or is there a command to reset?
May be some properties like (e. g. parity) aren't defined in the right way.

There is probably a problem with your connection. Make sure you respect the data +/- and the resistor at the end of the bus.
If it work with aurora, it will work with 123s, good luck
