Communication Problem

Post by dierre » Sat Sep 26, 2015 12:26 pm

Hi,
I had an issue and I'm not sure if the problem if the PC or the inverter ports :(

5 days ago there was a loud thunder near home, then since the system didn't work.

During the day I received this messages from email alert
Connection lost with inverter #1

At home I tried to do some tests as

Code: Select all

# aurora -a 3 -T -Y10 -d0 -e /dev/ttyUSB0
the answer is always:

Code: Select all

20150926-13:11:36: aurora: No response after 10 attempts
20150926-13:11:36: aurora: ERROR: Received bad return code (-1 0)
I tried to disconnect the wires from PC, disconnect the wires from inverter and connect again but without lucky.
Checked the cable they work, connecting inverter checking the pin with the tester at the and of USB there is a small voltage of approximately 1 volt.
If I put a USB Key in the PC it works.

Last test done is this:

Code: Select all

aurora -a 2 -b -e /dev/ttyUSB0
with this result

Code: Select all

szttyDevice: /dev/ttyUSB0
yDelay: 1
yTimeout 0 mS
yMaxRunTime ~

Could be the problem is the inverter?
Perhaps the surge has burnt inverter's communication board?
Is there another connection I can do with the inverter?

Any help is appreciate

Thanks
Roberto

That's bad luck  Maybe the USB converter 'burned', even if it show with lsusb or something... They are sensible, you better try with another one.
I hope it's not something inside the inverter.
