Help on installation and first configuration

Hello,
I have a home energy monitoring system made by two Easton sdm 230 modus meters. Both are bus connected with a Raspberry server and everything works. To read data from the meters I have installed sdm120c software.

The house is equipped with a photovoltaic plant.

The first meter monitors the energy bought from the utility and the energy exported to the grid when the pv production exceeds the house consumption.
The second meter monitors all house consumptions.

My question is how can I configure meterN to work with my monitoring system? I have not found a detailed “how to guide” starting from the software installation and going through the configuration steps.

Thanks for helping, Gio

Hi, You must set 'house consumption' and 'house production' meters

Thanks for replying.

Actually I was referring on the installation on the Raspberry, in other words, once unpacked the software, is there anything to install or just unpack and run, where shall I start to configure the meters, is there a guide or?

Under download I have found Comapps, what are these?

Just the basic start up.

Thanks,
G

You need first to get the data from your meter, you can configure mN later on. Comapps is the com. applications i use as example.

Try to install and get the values with SDM120C first.

I already get the data from the meter, it works OK.

I have written a simple script to record the data every 5 minutes and to check if the reading is OK or fails.
The core of the code is following:

Code: Select all

sdm120c "$param" -2 -b2400 -PN -z3 -j10 -w10 -pt /dev/ttyUSB0 | sed 's/NOK//'| sed 's/OK//'
Now I need to concentrate on mN.

By the way, I am familiar with Pyhton and shell scripting.

What is next step?
Thanks,
