Hi jeanmarc,

you are probably already aware of daylight saving time change problem & CSV for metern. This night in Italy we had the -1h shift and the result was that 1 hour of log records happened 2 times in csv file. This problem is not seen in 123solar because time shift happens only at night.

This double log, caused some glitch and problems in graphs too, will it be possible to fix it?

Yes, I know, it's only 1day/year problem... ;)

Hi,
I am aware of this but i don't have a solution nor i don't think there is.. It's only a visual glitch, data don't mess up anyway. :geek:

I agree with you that is a minor glitch. :geek:

I spent some time to think about it without finding a real "easy" solution too:
  • One option could be to record readings using a time offset from 00:00 (eg using UTC time) and not with "local time minutes", but this will lead anyway to 2 days/year with 25h and 23h of recordings.
  • Another option could be to use always local time but without daylight savings applied, but we will have months of time shifted recordings.
  • Another option could be to record both time offset (or time without daylight savings applied) and local time, one for stats, the other for reference. But this will broke csv format...
  • Another option could be to use UTC for csv time, who lives in utc? :)
Honestly I really like none of these options too, even if option one could be little better... :? :shock:

I a solution I would have, on the last Sunday in October each year do not look at the chart,
not seeing you solved the problem, :mrgreen:
a time chart corrupted once a year I do not think that can be a problem.

hi jeanmarc, i could suggest a feature for metern ? :-)
in italy, but i know that is the same in more countries, we split our consumption fees in 3 different part: F1 F2 F3
for example from monday to friday we have
F1 = 8:00 to 19:00
F2 = 19:00 to 8:00
on saturday and sunday we have
F3 = 00:00 to 24:00

maybe is it possible to add a new function in metern that record the energy consumption splitted as a users set?
it could be helpful on optimise and take under control the total energy consumption in a day splitted in the references fees category

thanks for helping us! :)
regards

Hi,
Well, the big problem is that there is too many differents way to split the energy counting (times/days/days-off/etc)..
I advice that you create virtual meters for each counting method.

Undefined offset

Post by thedrake » Sat Nov 14, 2015 10:52 am

Hi jeanmarc,

I've some errors in debug.log when I'm adding new meters during the day and metern is doing its daily calculations:

Code: Select all

...
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 15 in /usr/share/nginx/www/metern/scripts/metern.php on line 183
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 15 in /usr/share/nginx/www/metern/scripts/metern.php on line 183
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 16 in /usr/share/nginx/www/metern/scripts/metern.php on line 183
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 16 in /usr/share/nginx/www/metern/scripts/metern.php on line 183
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 16 in /usr/share/nginx/www/metern/scripts/metern.php on line 183
..
BTW: Line number is 137 for 0.7.7.3

I fixed them with this check added, please evaluate if you like to add it to lastest ver:

Code: Select all

$val_first = isset($array[$i]) ? trim($array[$i]) : '';

Hi megamarco83, I'm working on a virtual meter like that for F1, F2, F3 and bolletta accounting here.
